Earth Day Resolutions
I used to recycle, I even composted for my garden. Then came baby and my world got just a little crazier. So it's sad to say, but my recycling and composting went out the window, making way for feedings, diaper changes and sleepless nights. It's not an excuse, I mean how hard is it to put the plastic containers in the blue bag, right? It was all fine and good til I ran out of those lovely blue bags.... and here I am 2+ years later, but fear not hope has not been lost....I have made an Earth Day Resolution to start recycling again!! I want to teach my children how to save the planet, one milk jug at a time!
Here are some fun tips on teaching kids how to reduce, reuse and recycle.
1. Make & decorate recycle bins for "Paper" and "Plastic"
2. Encourage kids to use both sides of the paper when they draw or color
3. Find creative ways to reuse materials (Save egg cartons for arts and crafts, milk jugs for bird feeders and Styrofoam trays as paint trays)
4. Make an outdoor container for compost. When they are finished with a banana or orange, have them place the peels in the container. This is a fun science project too!
I'm so excited, I can't wait to start teaching my little guy to recycle!!

Inspire Me
I can always use a little inspiration.
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them." ~ Henry David Thoreau
Happy Monday everyone!
